2015 Minnesota Health Department, State Of Youth Final Report

In 2014, 218 juveniles (ages 10-17) were arrested for a violent crime, and 454 were victims of a violent crime, not necessarily perpetrated by a juvenile. 20 were gunshot victims.

During 2009-2013, Approximately 3.5 percent of young adults ages 16-19 years in households were characterized as "idle" by the Census, which is defined as not enrolled in school and not in the labor force.

During the 2014-15 school year, 10 percent of the students enrolled in MPS were homeless or highly mobile, and 18 percent received special education.
