About SAFE 

SAFE is a 501c3 that provides accommodating shelter and mentorship to black males between the ages of 12-17 in the Twin Cities-Metro area. We offer dependable housing to adolescent boys that have been referred by county services, schools, nonprofit agencies, social service agencies, and families in need. It is our goal to reunite families and provide mentorship to young black boys.

We accept clients in distressful situations such as:

  • Problems with authority

  • Sexual abuse

  • Gang affiliation

  • Foster care

  • Physical abuse or neglect

  • Domestic violence

  • Lack of motivation

  • Identity issues

  • Risk taking behaviors

SAFE is a welcoming family-oriented organization structured to improve and alter the lifestyle of young men in need.


The objectives of SAFE include:

  • Provide comfortable and reliable housing to adolescent boys in distress

  • Provide mentorship to troubled boys

  • Mentally strengthen clients through daily counseling

  • Place clients into sustainable employment

  • Enroll/reenroll clients into school

  • Develop successful academic skills

  • Instill self-discipline, self-esteem, empowerment, and independence within our clients
